Dr. Taygeti Michalakea is a lecturer at the European Law and Governance School in Athens, Greece. Her research and teaching focuses on business and human rights, transitional justice, international criminal and human rights law. She has conducted research in Colombia, Tunisia and South East Asia, the results of which have been published in peer reviewed journals, edited volumes and NGO reports. She has collaborated with the European University Institute in Florence, Javeriana University in Bogota and Essex Law School in the UK. She is regularly consulting international organisations and civil society on diverse issues of human rights protection. Previously, she has worked as a legal officer for the UN Mission in Kosovo, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the Greek Ombudsman and in private legal practice.
