Åsa is a project manager and senior advisor at Enact. As part of the Human Rights and Business Practice Group, her work focuses on supporting companies, public organizations and non-profits advancing their management of business and human rights issues. She supports clients to define and implement their sustainability strategy and human rights objectives. Åsa is also involved in various trainings.
Åsa have more than 20 years of experience working to promote transparency, accountability and empowerment of human rights in relation to business, within private sector and civil society. She has an excellent understanding of OECD and UNGP frameworks. She’s been on the board of Swedwatch and Amnesty Business group Sweden and is a recurring guest lecturer at universities. Åsa is an experienced project manager and process leader of trainings and workshops.
Prior to joining Enact, Åsa worked as senior policy advisor at international development organization Diakonia, supporting both civil society actors and companies from various industries in relation to human rights. She has been working extensively with advocacy in Sweden, EU and the UN and have experience of human rights due diligence and stakeholder engagement from several countries. She has also worked as a project manager at the Swedish Red Cross, where she focused on inclusion and diversity, human rights and international humanitarian law issues, which also led her to work one year in Sudan for the ICRC. Prior to that, Åsa was a consultant within marketing and communication, which introduced her to the area of responsible business conduct.
Åsa has worked and studied in multiple countries and speaks Swedish, English and Spanish. She holds a BSc in Business administration and Human Rights from Stockholm University and Enskilda Högskolan, and studies at the Human Rights Master program at Uppsala University. She has also studied at Universidad Católica in Santiago Chile and University of Technology, Sydney Australia.
