A breakfast meeting about lessons learnt: Business and NGO engagement
Enact is excited to offer a unique opportunity to meet Luc Zandvliet – a world-renowned community relations practitioner at an open breakfast event on 22 February 2018 in Stockholm.
Drawing from his extensive experiences in Africa, South America, Asia and Europe, Luc will share lessons learnt on how companies and NGOs can improve on their stakeholder engagement. Luc Zandvliet will share concrete examples of how engagements have stalled and led to community protests and violent conflicts, but also how trust and genuine dialogue can generate benefits to all involved. He will provide hands-on advice to NGOs and companies respectively.
About Luc Zandvliet:
Luc Zandvliet has conducted over 100 site visits to 25 countries and with 30+ companies working on conflict resolution, grievance management and prevention, resettlement negotiations, and training / advising to senior company staff. He was also closely involved in the development of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human rights alongside Prof Ruggies team; and has co-facilitated a pilot project for the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) to test the ICMM guide on grievance handling. He has worked for the International Red Cross in Ethiopia and with Doctors Without Borders in Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sudan, Eritrea and Sierra Leone.
