In 2012, Vattenfall decided to turn to its stakeholders for inspiration on how the company should organise its sustainability work under the Swedish government’s newly revised ownership policy. Enact was appointed by Vattenfall to lead this extensive stakeholder engagement initiative.

In this project, Enact interviewed more than 50 of Vattenfall’s stakeholders to find out their views on Vattenfall’s sustainability challenges and Vattenfall performance in areas such as climate and environment, human rights and anti-corruption. All interviews were kept anonymous but thoroughly documented.

The results of the interviews was compiled in a report that outlined what issues and reflections had been raised by the stakeholders with recommendations on follow-up actions and next steps.
